Option Three: Project Development

Service Description

A focused 90-minute online development session for writers who want to step back, look at the project as a whole, and make stronger decisions about where it needs to go next. The Project Development Intensive is designed for feature films, television pilots, treatments and other substantial screen projects. It offers more time than a standard mentoring session to explore the underlying dramatic architecture of the piece - including premise, character, structure, theme, tone, stakes, relationships and narrative direction. The session is collaborative and diagnostic. Together, we identify what is working, where the project may be losing clarity or momentum, and which development choices are likely to have the greatest impact. What’s Included • 90-minute online development session • In-depth discussion of the project as a whole • Exploration of structure, character, theme, tone and dramatic direction • Identification of the key development challenges • Practical, prioritised recommendations for the next stage of work • Clear next steps for rewriting or further development You are welcome to send a draft screenplay or project overview in advance so that we can make the best use of the session. Who It’s For The Project Development Intensive is ideal for writers who have moved beyond a single isolated problem and need a broader assessment of where the project currently stands. It is particularly useful if you are: • Developing a feature screenplay or television pilot • Preparing for a substantial rewrite • Unsure whether the central premise is fully working • Struggling to align character, structure and theme • Deciding between competing story directions • Preparing a project for submission, pitching or further development • Returning to a project that has stalled and needs renewed clarity The aim is to leave the session with a clearer understanding of the project, a stronger sense of its dramatic potential, and a practical development strategy for what to do next.
